Terms of Service
Effective: 2026-05-20
1. Scope
These Terms govern your use of any Crosshire surface — the consulting site at crosshire.ch, the journal at blogs.crosshire.ch, the courses at learn.crosshire.ch, and the matching product at fitscore.crosshire.ch. Crosshire is operated by Darshan Singh, sole proprietor, EU.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use any Crosshire surface. FitScore is for adult job-seekers and recruiters only. By using the service you represent you meet the age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms in your jurisdiction.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Submit content you do not have the legal right to submit.
- Submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, infringing, or contains malware.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract data from any Crosshire surface.
- Use Crosshire outputs to make automated decisions about other people without their informed consent and without meaningful human review.
- Interfere with the service's integrity, attempt to gain unauthorised access, or use it to send spam.
- Resell or redistribute generated Summaries or course content as a stand-alone product.
4. AI output — advisory, not professional advice
Content generated by large language models across Crosshire surfaces — FitScore Summaries, Learn explanations, and any AI-assisted Blogs content — is advisory, probabilistic, and may contain inaccuracies, omissions, or biases. It is not professional advice (career, legal, financial, medical, or otherwise). Check facts before acting on them. Do not rely on AI output as the sole basis for any decision; apply your own judgement and, where appropriate, qualified professional advice.
5. No warranty
All Crosshire surfaces are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Crosshire makes no warranty that any output, course material, or blog post is accurate, complete, current, or fit for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability and may suspend or modify any part of the service at any time, including for maintenance, security, or upstream provider outages.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Crosshire and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or opportunity, arising out of or in connection with your use of the service. Our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or, where the service was provided free of charge, EUR 50. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (e.g. death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).
7. Intellectual property
The Crosshire name, logo, websites, and underlying software are owned by Darshan Singh and are protected by intellectual property laws. See the Crosshire License page for the content / code licensing matrix across all four surfaces. These Terms do not transfer any ownership in Crosshire to you.
8. Consulting (crosshire.ch)
Consulting engagements are out of scope of these Terms. Each engagement is governed by its own statement of work signed separately. The crosshire.ch site itself is informational; submitting the contact form does not create a consulting engagement or any contractual obligation on either side.
9. FitScore (fitscore.crosshire.ch)
FitScore is an AI-assisted decision-support service that produces a written Summary comparing a CV to a job description. The Summary is not a hiring decision, a job offer, an endorsement, or employment advice; the final call always rests with you. FitScore is currently free during early access. We may introduce paid tiers with reasonable notice (at least 14 days for material changes by email and a banner on the site).
You retain all rights in the CV, JD, and any other content you submit. You grant FitScore a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to process Your Content solely to generate and deliver your Summary, operate the service, and improve it through anonymized aggregations. The FitScore EULA covers the acceptable-use specifics for the product.
10. Learn (learn.crosshire.ch)
Learn content is educational. It is not a certification, a qualification, or professional training accredited by any authority. Course material may include AI-generated explanations subject to §4 above. You may use Learn content for your own learning and may quote short excerpts for non-commercial use with attribution; see the License page.
11. Blogs (blogs.crosshire.ch)
Blog posts are editorial commentary and tutorials. They reflect the author's views at time of writing and may include AI-assisted content subject to §4. Code snippets in blog posts are MIT-licensed for reader reuse — see the License page. Other prose is © Crosshire / Darshan Singh; you may quote with attribution and a link to the canonical post.
12. Recruiter accounts (FitScore)
If you use FitScore as a recruiter or hiring manager and upload CVs of candidates other than yourself, you are the data controller for those candidates' personal data and FitScore acts as your processor under GDPR Article 28. By uploading you warrant that:
- You have a lawful basis (consent, or a documented legitimate interest with balancing test) to upload each CV.
- You have informed — or will inform — the candidate per Article 14 that their data has been provided to FitScore for AI-assisted screening, including categories, purpose, retention, and rights.
- You will not upload CVs of candidates who have objected, and you will surface deletion or rectification requests promptly to FitScore.
EU AI Act note: where the EU AI Act applies (from August 2026), the recruiter using FitScore to support hiring decisions is the "deployer" of any high-risk AI system under Annex III point 4. FitScore is decision-support; accountability for human oversight, transparency to candidates, and contestability rests with the deployer.
13. Termination
You may stop using any Crosshire surface at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, abuse the service, or where we are required to do so by law. Sections that by their nature survive termination (IP, limitation of liability, governing law) continue to apply.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union member state in which the operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes arising under these Terms are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of that member state, except where mandatory consumer-protection rules in your country of residence give you the right to bring proceedings locally.
15. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of any Crosshire surface after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
